At empiricum** we offer you in the heart of London an integrated psychotherapeutic, psychiatric and coaching service tailored to your specific needs. We are a group of therapists who use the most effective and research-validated techniques from the Cognitive Behavioural tradition. We offer psychotherapy in English, French, Spanish and German. We do not have an ‘anti-medication’ approach to treating mental health problems. Research evidence shows that in some cases the use of psychiatric medication is necessary in order to fully benefit from psychotherapy. We believe you don’t need to suffer unnecessarily. Our team therefore includes consultant psychiatrists who can help you if you want to find out more about medication. They can assess you individually, and offer you a treatment plan which is adapted to your own needs and preferences. We give you options, you decide.

The high success rate of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy makes it the gold-standard for the treatment of many psychological and behavioural problems. We offer you a non-judgmental, nurturing yet challenging service to assist you in standing proud on your own two feet, so you can live a smarter, passionate life.

We specialise in three main areas:

> Depression

> Anxiety Disorders

> Bipolar Disorder

> Anger problems

> Obsessive Compulsive Disorders

> Body image problems

> Addiction

We work holistically. We recognise in which cases medication is necessary but we don’t push you to use them.We discuss with you other non-medication options, which will support your psychotherapy treatment. Sometimes psychotherapy by itself is simply not enough to help you get better. We don’t want you to waste your time and money in a psychotherapy treatment, which you won’t be able to benefit from, simply because you are at a point in your life where you are too unwell.

> Sexual dysfunctions (Erectile dysfunction, vaginismus, , sexual pain, premature ejaculation, low libido)

> Sexual compulsivity

> Couple discord and communication

> Same sex sexuality and relationships

> ‘Alternative’ sexualities, kink, BDSM and unconventional relationship structures

> Gender diversities (issues related to identifying with a gender outside the male vs female gender ‘norm’)

> Issues related to homophobia, trans-phobia, ‘coming-out’ and ‘transitioning’

We have a gay-affirmative, kink-affirmative and trans-affirmative approach to sexuality and gender identity. This means we DO NOT believe that different forms of sexualities, and gender identities are a mental ‘sickness’ in themselves.

> Becoming more effective
